Getting a useful answer, faster
What's the quickest way to get a price?
For an EV charger, send photos of your consumer unit (cover on), your meter and main fuse, and where the car parks, plus a rough distance between the two. That's usually enough for a firm figure without a visit. For anything else, a sentence or two describing the job is a good start.
How soon will you get back to me?
As soon as we can. We're on the tools most of the day, so an enquiry sent at 10am might get answered at 5pm rather than straight away. If it's urgent, ring, a missed call gets returned quicker than an email gets read.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quoting is part of the job. If a survey visit is needed for something complicated, we'll say so before arranging it.
What if I'm not sure what I need?
Describe the symptom rather than the solution'the sockets upstairs keep tripping', 'we're getting an electric car in March'. Working out what's actually needed is our end of it.
Do you handle emergencies?
We're a local business rather than a 24-hour operation, so we don't advertise a guaranteed emergency response. Ring and you'll get an honest answer about when we can be there, plus advice on making things safe in the meantime. If you can smell burning or see scorching, switch that circuit off at the board first.
