Privacy policy

KS Electrical is an electrical contractor based in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, operated by Kieran Stinson. For anything in this policy you can reach us on 07508 696028 or at kieran@kselectrical.org.

We only collect information you choose to give us. There is no account to create and nothing is collected in the background beyond the analytics described below.

When you submit an enquiry form

• Your name, phone number, email address and postcode
• The service you're enquiring about and the property type
• Whatever you write in the message box
• For EV charger enquiries: the job type, parking arrangement, number of vehicles and, optionally, your vehicle or charger preference
• Your preferred way of being contacted, and your consent to us replying
• Technical context: the page you submitted from, the site that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed

When you call or email us

We keep whatever you tell us that is needed to quote for and carry out the work, typically your name, contact details, address and a description of the job.

When you simply browse the site

If website analytics is enabled, we collect anonymised usage statistics, which pages are visited, roughly where in the country visitors are, and which links get clicked. IP addresses are anonymised, advertising features are switched off, and none of it identifies you personally. See our cookie policy for detail.

• To reply to your enquiry, quote for work and carry it out. This is our legitimate interest in responding to someone who has asked us to, and where work is agreed, performance of a contract with you.
• To keep records of work carried out, including test results and certificates. This is a legal obligation, since electrical certification has to be recorded and, for notifiable work, notified through our Competent Person Scheme.
• To protect the enquiry form from spam and abuse, our legitimate interest in keeping the service usable.
• To understand how the website is used, where analytics is enabled and you have agreed to it, consent.

We do not use your details for marketing. You will not be added to a mailing list, and we do not send newsletters.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. It is handled by a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Supabase, stores enquiries submitted through the website, in a database that is not publicly readable.
• Resend, delivers the notification email to us and the confirmation email to you.
• Cloudflare, hosts the website, and provides the invisible anti-spam check on the form.
• Google Analytics, anonymised website usage statistics, where enabled and consented to.

Where any of these providers process data outside the UK, that transfer is covered by the safeguards those providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses. We may also share information where we are legally required to.

• Enquiries that don't lead to work: kept while they might still be useful, then deleted. [TO CONFIRM: retention period, suggested 24 months]
• Customer records and job details: kept for as long as needed to support the work and meet our legal and insurance obligations. [TO CONFIRM: retention period, typically 6 years]
• Electrical certificates and test records: retained in line with the requirements of our Competent Person Scheme.
• Analytics data: retained according to the settings on the analytics account, and is not personally identifying.

• The website is served over HTTPS only.
• Enquiries are written to the database by our server, never directly from your browser, and the database denies public access to enquiry records.
• Access keys are held as server-side environment variables and are never exposed in the website's code.
• The form is rate-limited and validated on the server to prevent abuse.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

This website is aimed at people arranging electrical work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
