How much does an EV charger installation cost in the UK?

Can I install an EV charger on my driveway?
Yes, provided the parking is off-street and the cable never crosses a public footpath. Most driveway installations are the simplest kind of home charger job there is.

Do I need a consumer unit upgrade for an EV charger?
Not always. If your board has a spare way and can accept the right protective device, the charger goes straight in. If it can't, a small separate enclosure next to the board is often a cheaper answer than a full upgrade.

When should you replace an old fuse board?

Why does my RCD keep tripping?

What is an EICR, and does my property need one?
An EICR is a documented inspection and test of a property's fixed wiring, resulting in a satisfactory or unsatisfactory report. Rented homes in England need a satisfactory one at least every five years.
